BEST BOOK RECOMMENDED BY A BOOKSELLER
I’m so lucky in that I’ve got three fantastic independent bookshops very close to my home. And the people who work there are all completely invested in the books they read, sell and recommend to their customers.
Which is good, because I always have problems finding books for my husband. He’s not a great reader of fiction (he will start something and get bored with it very quickly), and given a choice, he will always head for the non-fiction shelves. I’m sure the fact that he’s an engineer has something to do with it.
I mentioned to my bookseller that my husband was a big fan of Mary Roach's books and she immediately came up with Heat: Adventures in the World’s Fiery Places, and Cold: Adventures in the World’s Frozen Places by Bill Streever. My husband loved them.
