BEST WRITTEN BEST-SELLER
I can think of plenty of candidates for the worst written best-seller. Not going to mention any names, but they know who they are.
But Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel most certainly does not fall into that category. I adored this book. I know there was much criticism for Mantel’s style of writing with her use of the ‘he’ pronoun, and telling the story in present tense, but to me it just added to the immediacy of the novel. I really felt as if I was in Cromwell’s head when I was reading it.
