August #Bookaday - Day 8

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4 - Sue Townsend

NEVER FAILS TO CHEER ME UP

Like most teenagers I kept a diary, moaned that my parents didn't understand me, wrote crap poetry, and suffered from unrequited love, which is why I simultaneously laugh and cringe at The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, whenever I re-read it.

Oh Adrian, you were the Holden Caulfield for a generation of angst-ridden, middle-class British teenagers. And we love you.
