A Book a Day - Literary Animals

Mostly Mary (Knight Books) - Gwynnedd RAE The Tales of Olga Da Polga - Michael Bond Gobbolino The Witch's Cat (Kingfisher Classics) - Ursula Moray Williams, Paul Howard, Joan Aiken Animal Farm & 1984 - George Orwell, Christopher Hitchens

I've loved reading today's choices. And it's been great seeing people choose some of my favourites.

Here are a few more of mine who didn't quite make the short-list.

Mary Plain - A well-meaning bear cub who lived with her owner, the Owl Man and had all sorts of exciting adventures.

Olga da Polga - a guineapig with a penchant for telling some very tall tales.

Gobbolino the Witch's Cat - too kindhearted to be a witch's cat.  All he wanted was a kitchen, some children to play with, and a fireplace to curl up in front of.

Boxer - the loyal, dependable horse from Animal Farm. It upsets me every time I read it.
