The 10 American writers that English children should study for GCSE

so after the hoohah about removing The Crucible, TKaM, and Of Mice and Men from the GCSE syllabus, The Guardian newspaper has come up with ten books by American authors it believes should be studied in English schools. 


I think I've mentioned before that I studied a heck of a lot of American literature and drama at my English school, including all three of those which are to be dropped, and I'll be forever grateful for being given the opportunity to do so.
