The Stockholm Octavo, Karen Englemann
So the Mount TBR challenge has started, and the first book from my list is The Stockholm Octavo by Karen Englemann. I'm reading this as a buddy read with a Goodreads group, and so far it's a winner.
I am galloping through this at an alarming speed. It's got everything I love in a book. Intrigue, a hint of magic, well-drawn characters, 18th century fashions, lovely prose, exotic locations, and a great story that I have no idea where it's going end, but I'm loving the journey.
And I've finished it. And what a cracking read it was. With the added bonus of learning a little about Scandinavian history.
