A Siege of Bitterns: A Birder Murder Mystery - Steve Burrows

Mystery : A Siege of Bitterns, Steve Burrows

"This was how it all started for us, wasn't it, Inspector? Watching a few birds, wanting to know a bit more about them. Before we all got caught up in lists and numbers and races to four hundred and all that nonsense."

Well this is a series I will definitely be carrying on with. Obviously I love the birding aspect, but it also reminds me of Louise Penny's excellent Three Pines series with its sharp eyed Canadian policeman, and close-knit community.

And here's an American bittern. But you'll have to read the book if you want know if one was spotted in Norfolk.
