People of the Book - Geraldine Brooks

And this is the book I've chosen. I love Brooks' writing, so I have no idea why I haven't read this one before. 

 

And it's wonderful. Though I'm not sure why USA Today said that booksellers were comparing it to The Da Vinci Code. I mean they're both books, but that's about as far as the comparison goes.
